Christian Bale Finally Says Something About Joining the Marvel Universe

Thor: Thunder and Love will finally see the release of Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, bringing havoc for Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder and Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor. The excitement for Gorr’s MCU debut has been palpable, particularly after test audiences declared him Marvel’s finest villain ever. As a consequence, the buzz for Thor’s next great enemy grows, and marketing also revealed what this interesting new addition has in store.
After the frightening villain was noticeably missing from the film’s initial teaser, Love and Thunder’s marketing team worked hard to promote him. Marvel and Disney have already given fans some of the greatest glimpses of the next MCU villain, from 4K marketing pictures to a complete unveiling in the official Thor 4 teaser, but it’s apparent that the best is yet to come.
In a recent interview, the MCU newbie has finally broken his silence on joining the interwoven superhero series.
Christian Bale Discusses His Marvel Debut and Thor 4 Role

Christian Bale, who will make his MCU debut as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, spoke with Total Film, through GamesRadar, to finally discuss his MCU role and his views on portraying the sequel’s main villain.
When asked what influenced his interpretation of Gorr outside of the comics, Bale said it was “mainly hearing Taika [Waititi, Thor 4 director] opinions on the character.” The legendary actor went on to say that his Gorr has a “Nosferatu little attitude,” and that he and Waititi “intended to perform a full dance” with the villain:
“I was really interested in hearing Taika’s [Waititi, director] opinions on it.” There’s clearly a Nosferatu-like mindset here. Taika and I wanted to perform a complete dance, which we didn’t get to do, but we worked on all this Kate Bush stuff. But I believe he simply realized he wasn’t going to be able to include it in the final cut.”
Bale then claimed that the “most frequent item” he glances at is Aphex Twin’s “Come To Daddy” music video:
“I’d say the Aphex Twin video for ‘Come To Daddy’ was the most prevalent item I was gazing at.” But I’m not even sure whether it will be in the finished picture.”

Nonetheless, the MCU’s Gorr turned out to be different from Bale’s early notions. When he googled his character, the Batman Begins actor was astonished to see that the villain “goes about in a G-string all the time.” Worried that he wasn’t the proper person for the position, Bale said that Waititi “dispelled any concept” of that:
“You go, ‘I know what he does.'” Isn’t it right there in the name? I did, however, make the mistake of Googling him, and oh no! He always goes about in a G-string in the comics. ‘They don’t have the appropriate guy for that!’ I thought. Taika instantly dismissed any thoughts of running about in it. But I always wondered what he could do with this in front of a bluescreen — he could slap anything he wanted on afterwards.”
When asked whether he had any reservations about reprising his role as Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Bale swiftly rejected the idea. When admirers pointed out that he was now a member of the linked phenomenon, the Academy Award-winning actor said that he had to inquire what the MCU was:
“Certainly not, no. That was the last thing on my mind. When I read it, people would say, ‘Oh, look at this!’ He’s arrived in the MCU!’ And I’d say, ‘What have I done?’ Thank you very much, I haven’t entered nothing.’ ‘The MCU?’ I think. I had to inquire as to what it was.”
Will Christian Bale’s Gorr make it through Thor 4?
Christian Bale is most renowned for his devotion to playing many characters. Images of the actor’s metamorphosis into Gorr utilizing a bald cap prosthesis have recently surfaced online, reinforcing the assumption that Bale is prepared to go to any length to accomplish the appearance. Furthermore, the actor’s most recent statements regarding his attempts to study and find inspiration for his part as Gorr reflect that view.
Bale said that while looking for inspiration for Gorr, he generally watches Aphex Twin’s “Come To Daddy” music video. Given that the aforementioned music video contains unsettling visuals and ideas, it seems like the Vice and American Psycho actor found the proper balance of being a scary but interesting enemy, as indicated by Gorr’s design in the film’s trailers.
Bale’s comments also indicated that he and Waititi worked closely together throughout production. Despite his statements about not understanding what the MCU means, it’s reasonable to presume that the Marvel filmmaker taught the actor what the series is all about.
The specific reason of Gorr in Thor 4 is unclear at this time, but Chris Hemsworth has said that it is “truthful,” and spectators will be able to “understand why he’s been thrown over the brink and why he’s gone down this road.”
Thor and Gorr seem to be in for an emotional war in Love and Thunder, similar to past conflicts in the MCU.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in cinemas on July 8.

Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Where, Who, Why, and How
In the world of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise, Gamora, played by Zoe Saldaña, was presumed dead after being thrown off a cliff on the planet Vormir in Avengers: Infinity War. However, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, she is back, albeit as an alternate version of herself. The rules of time travel in Avengers: Endgame created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Gamora still exists. This alternate version of Gamora, along with her sister Nebula, was kidnapped by Alternate Thanos and his loyal assassin daughters, and they followed the Avengers back to the main MCU timeline. Main Timeline Nebula killed her alternate self and convinced Alternate Gamora to fight for the good guys. Although Alternate Gamora is alive and well in the main timeline, she declines to join the Guardians as she has never met them or fallen in love with Star-Lord.

Gamora, played by Zoe Saldaña, is a pivotal character in the Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise, but she was thought to be dead after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. So, how is Gamora alive in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Let’s take a look at where she is, who she is, why she is alive, and how she is back.
Who is Gamora in the MCU?
Gamora, the deadliest woman in the galaxy, was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. She was adopted by Thanos after he conquered her planet and killed 50% of its population. Gamora defected from Thanos’ forces and teamed up with the Guardians to keep the Kree general Ronan the Accuser from obtaining the Power Stone. She also encouraged her sister Nebula to defect from Thanos as well.
Where is Gamora in the main MCU timeline?
Technically, Gamora is dead. Thanos abducted her and threw her off a cliff on the planet Vormir, as the sacrifice required to obtain the Soul Stone during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
Why is Gamora alive again?
Zoe Saldaña is under contract to play Gamora, and her character is an essential part of the Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise. But in-universe, the rules of time travel in Avengers: Endgame created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Gamora still exists.
How is Gamora alive in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
During the time heist in Endgame, Nebula and War Machine traveled back in time to intercept the Power Stone before the Guardians, Kree, or Thanos obtained it. However, they created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Thanos became aware that there was a timeline in which he gathered all the Infinity Stones and snapped half of the universe dead, which caused the Avengers to time-travel to collect the Infinity Stones. After kidnapping the main timeline Nebula, Alternate Thanos and his loyal assassin daughters, Alternate Gamora and Nebula, followed them back to the main MCU timeline. Main Timeline Nebula killed her alternate self and convinced Alternate Gamora to fight for the good guys. After Iron Man sacrificed himself to snap away all of “Thanos’ forces,” Alternate Gamora remained in the main MCU timeline but declined to join up with the Guardians, having never met them or fallen in love with Star-Lord.
In conclusion, while we don’t know what that means for Alternate Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we know she is in it.
It will be interesting to see how Alternate Gamora’s storyline unfolds in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given her unique perspective and experiences, there are endless possibilities for where her character arc could go. Perhaps she will struggle to adapt to the new timeline, or maybe she will become a pivotal player in the battle against the villainous Adam Warlock.
Whatever the case may be, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the opportunity to see how Alternate Gamora fits into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the film set to be directed by James Gunn and featuring a star-studded cast, it is sure to be a thrilling and emotional ride for both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
