Let’s chat about Moon Knight episodes 1-2, where some, but not all, questions are addressed.

Steven Grant had a horrible week. He enraged a cult, uncovered a dual personality, and fled some kind of supernatural monster that wasn’t mythological enough.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Marvel Entertainment

Today, the museum staffer is prepared to ask the difficult question. Who is Moon Knight, and who is Marc Spector, for that matter?

Are the convicts in charge of the asylum? And how can we know Spector isn’t a Tyler Durden story?

You’ve been fired.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Mr. Grant was last seen fleeing from some kind of Egyptian jackal. But suddenly his inner Moon Knight manifested itself and completely annihilated that creature.

Grant must now account for his behavior. He begins the day with glee, thinking that the cameras may have captured photos of the creature.

As a result, the museum employee returns to his work and requests that the security guard check the film. Unfortunately, this request fails miserably.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Marc Spector, probably as Moon Knight, has deleted the film, making Grant seem insane, which he may very well be.

Meanwhile, the security guard, who didn’t know Grant’s name until last week, is now aware of some, but not all, of the museum blunders.

To summarize, Mr. Grant no longer works in the gift shop…or the museum as a whole.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Grant uses this chance to commiserate with the living statue guy, who nearly breaks character for a split second as he looks in terror at Grant, an obvious madman.

Meanwhile, Grant discovers his calling. He’d attempted to talk to Spector earlier this morning by glancing in the mirror. Unfortunately, his opponent was not at home at the time.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

So Grant has the brilliant notion of looking for security boxes throughout town.

At the fifth site, he hits gold when the security guy who aided Spector remembers him, despite the fact that he is now Grant.

The First Confrontation and the Romantic Entanglement

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

This is the point at which the program goes into overdrive for the week. A gun, as well as additional passports, are discovered among Spector’s things by the former museum employee.

Oh, and Grant finds a scarab. That’s the one. You may remember it as the event that almost killed him last week.

Conveniently, the space is made up of multiple glass panes that reflect shadows. Spector decides to check in and chat with his “symbiote” at this point.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

MOON KNIGHT, a film from Marvel Studios, stars Oscar Isaac as Steven Grant. Marvel Studios provided the image. Marvel Studios 2022 Every right is reserved.

Spector tells his host that he cannot have Grant meddling in “what (he) has left to accomplish.”

Grant becomes the mercenary’s servant/avatar once the mercenary verifies that he serves Khonshu, the Egyptian deity of the moon, as his avatar.

Throughout the first half of the episode, Spector identifies the corpse in order to complete his assignment. However, he seems to be unable to take control until Grant is either agreeing or unconscious.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Grant escapes with the scarab, which is understandable. At this moment, he runs into Khonshu, who tells him, “Give it back, you idiot.”

Surprisingly, it isn’t the strangest element of these five minutes. Grant rushes outdoors and collides with…his wife, Layla.

This is the portion that not enough people are focusing on. Grant has no recollection of her or their connection.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Layla, for one, doesn’t understand why Marc Spector is acting as if he doesn’t know her…

Until Grant shows her his flat, that is.

When women learn that their husbands have hidden residences, divorce attorneys usually make a lot of money.

Instead, Layla begins to believe him.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Into the Darkness

Grant’s week hasn’t reached its zenith of bizarre yet. First, he discovers that his new wife, Layla, has divorce papers in her hands.

Marc, it seems, came up with the notion. Grant and Layla, on the other hand, seem to have a lot in common. His favorite poetry is hers, and they are both familiar with hieroglyphics.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

The scarab is shown to the nebbish man’s wife. She confesses that the two of them had to fight together to win it back. Spector ran away from her.

The police come shortly after this disclosure. They claim to be police, after all. In reality, they work for Ammit/Harrow.

Layla manages to flee with the scarab for the time being, but we’re just getting started.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Under the cover of darkness, the detectives transport Steven Grant to Harrow, who treats him as a curiosity and a peer.

We’ve reached the point in the novel when the villain presents his case in the hopes of persuading Grant to join his cause.

Khonshu enters at this moment and begins demanding that Grant kill Harrow.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Here’s the episode’s first major surprise. Harrow had previously worked as the Moon Knight before resigning or being sacked.

The second revelation is that Khonshu has threatened Marc with Layla taking over as Moon Knight. That thought does not sit well with him.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

I’ve been debating if Layla even exists throughout the episode. Then something happens that proves she’s not a fabrication of Steven’s mind.

Layla comes at Harrow’s village and displays the scarab. Members of the cult observe her and see her as a danger.

Harrow begins to use cane magic – really – and summons a demon as Layla and her fearful husband struggle to flee.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

The sequel to Moon Knight.

The remainder of the show is reminiscent of Jim Carrey’s portrayal in The Mask.

I say this because Grant begins battling such monster, which is unseen to others. He notices it, but Layla does not.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

As a result, the unexpected hero tries to fight back. While this is going on, Spector appears in reflections and begs Steven to “let me in.”

Grant rejects for whatever reason, but he respects Layla’s effort to “Summon the Suit,” as the episode’s title suggests.

Obviously, this situation devolves into slapstick. As a result, this outfit isn’t quite appropriate. Nonetheless, it contributes significantly to the plot’s development.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

In this series, there are TWO Moon Knights. Spector’s version is a ferocious warrior capable of immediate annihilation.

Grant’s avatar has enormous power and is obviously skilled at improvisation.

When the struggle spills out onto the streets of this English suburb, Grant realizes he’s in over his head. All they see is a guy battling himself in a white suit.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

So Grant relents and enables Spector to “take control…for the time being.” Moon Knight fights up several jerks before impaling the demon on a statue. It’s a tough route to take.

Following that, Spector notices Grant has dropped the scarab. Instead, a stranger finds it, only for Harrow to murder the individual and steal it.

Layla observes this from afar before Harrow spots her. At this time, she realizes that prudence is superior to bravery and drives away.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

Finally, Grant and Spector discuss the difficulties of becoming Khonshu’s avatar. Grant requests the return of his body, but Spector refuses.

As the episode concludes, Spector is driving the mind cart and Grant is locked in the mirror as they go to Egypt. It’s an intriguing and surprising turn of events.

Last Thoughts

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

I was genuinely dreading writing this review since it was such an emotional episode.

The conversations between Grant and Spector are reminiscent of James McAvoy’s performance in Split.

But there’s something more at work here. Ethan Hawke is ecstatic about the chance to play a morally complex character.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

I scarcely noticed it before, but his character has converted a crime-ridden region into a paradise, although via dubious means.

The finest villains are usually those who are absolutely convinced that they are on the side of morality. This is unmistakably Hawke.

Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac has heated discussions with…Oscar Isaac. He’s playing the role of a schizophrenia while acting against himself. It’s hypnotic.

Let’s Talk about Moon Knight Episode 1-2

This series’ acting is without a doubt the greatest we’ve seen in the MCU since WandaVision. I’m excited to see what happens next.

I’m also a fan of the comedic parts in episode 2. It gets an easy A.

Armor Wars Movie: from Marvel Disney+ Series To A Film

Due to creative adjustments, the TV series starring Don Cheadle will now be turned into an MCU – Armor Wars movie. The most of the Disney+ series that Marvel Studios had planned have already been released, but Armor Wars has been stuck in development for a while. Even though it had been announced in 2020, James Rhodes’ spinoff show hadn’t received any updates until 2022. In 2008’s Iron Man, Terrence Howard played Rhodes; in Iron Man 2, Cheadle took over as War Machine, and he has since continued to feature in several MCU projects.

Despite being a part of Phase 5, the Armor Wars TV series on Disney+ is being redesigned as an MCU – Armor Wars movie, with Don Cheadle remaining attached to play War Machine.

War Machine is followed by Armor Wars following Phase 3, which resulted in the demise of his closest friend, Tony Stark. The Disney+ drama will, according to confirmation, follow the events of Secret Invasion, in which Cheadle will next play the Marvel character. Despite Disney’s commitment to creating the series, Armor Wars was not included in any of the Phases 5 or 6 slates that Marvel Studios presented at San Diego Comic-Con. One of the key Armor Wars stories, according to Cheadle in an interview from earlier this month, would include Tony Stark’s technology going out into the open, with Rhodey having to stop the wrong people from using it.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Armor Wars is being retooled into a feature picture, causing a significant shake-up within Marvel Studios. The company decided that a movie would be a better choice as opposed to a 6-episode series since they were dedicated to “having the tale conveyed the proper way.” The movie’s screenplay will be written by the film’s head writer, Yassir Lester, who is still employed. Production had been planned to begin in 2023, but this most recent development has forced a postponement. The Armor Wars information was released shortly after the director of the Blade reboot was fired.

How the MCU Will Be Affected by the Filming of Armor Wars Movie

Armor Wars

While Armor Wars’ continual postponement is a problem in and of itself, Cheadle’s character might gain from the film’s decision. Despite the fact that War Machine has been in a lot of MCU movies, he has never been the main character in any of the plots. Despite Rhodes having his own show at first, a feature film offers him a greater stage for obvious reasons. Additionally, this would give War Machine his own cinematic prominence after serving as Iron Man’s sidekick throughout the duration of the MCU. Marvel has adapted a product from one medium to another before, and Armor Wars is hardly the only instance of this. The Royal Family was supposed to have its own Phase 3 movie before The Inhumans became a TV show, but instead received a short series on ABC that had a poor outcome.

The length of Armor Wars’ delay as a result of the move from Disney+ to theaters is yet unknown. Armor Wars may have to wait until Phase 6 even if it takes place after Secret Invasion unless Marvel discovers a window in Phase 5 that makes sense. Due to the enormous lag between the conclusion of Secret Invasion and the release of Cheadle’s movie, it’s probable that the tie-ins from Secret Invasion will be eliminated if Armor Wars is redeveloped as a feature film. There is a likelihood that Armor Wars was always a Phase 6 project because the slate wasn’t fully revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. It is unclear how Armor Wars will fare as a movie unless Cheadle, Feige, and Marvel Studios make announcements.
