‘Moon Knight’ Episode 4: The Trippy Ending Is Cleared Up

Episode 4 of Moon Knight was released on Disney Plus on Wednesday, and it felt a lot like Indiana Jones or The Mummy with a little bit of Alien. The heroes were running around an Egyptian tomb. It’s hard for Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) to fight cult leader Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke) without his Moon Knight powers. Moon god Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham) is being held prisoner by other gods, so Marc has to fight without them.

There is a new show called Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe that takes its powerless hero on a crazy ride.

Marc is still very powerful, but he isn’t alone. His alternate persona, an Egyptian mythology expert named Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac with a London accent), and his estranged wife Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) are helping him stop Harrow from unleashing the trapped death goddess Ammit on the world, which would be bad for everyone.

As if we were watching The Mummy in 1999, let’s party like we were and look at some spoilers for episode 4. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, this show is about.

After Marc fights off Harrow’s goons, the villain shoots him and claims the ushabti (an ancient Egyptian figurine) Ammit is being held in as his own. In “Tomb Buster,” a super cheesy parody of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dr. Steven Grant stars as Dr. Steven Grant, who is a real doctor. Marc goes into the dark. In the movie Marc saw as a child, he has a charming sidekick who is a lot like him.

'Moon Knight' Episode 4: The Trippy Ending Is Cleared Up

There are characters from the show (like Steven’s mean museum boss and Harrow’s police goons) in a mental institution that Marc is in. They’ve taken on roles as patients and staff. This place is also full of Easter eggs from the show, like cupcakes, a cute scarab, a Moon Knight action figure, and a painting of a beautiful European town.

A mustache and sweater vest make him look a little more professional, but Marc runs away from his honeyed words. A distraught Steven is found by him, and the two come face-to-face (double Oscar Isaac, we must all be happy!), which is a good thing. These two men hug each other as if they were brothers, and both of them remember how Harrow shot them.

Marc is probably thinking about this all the time, and the Easter eggs he finds are fragments of his memories.

The hippo isn’t who I thought it was.

The last scene shows Marc and Steven running into an anthropomorphic hippo dressed in ancient Egyptian ceremonial garb.

“Hello!” she says with a smile, which makes Marc and Steven scream at the same time.

In Ancient Egypt, Taweret (Antonia Salib) was a goddess of childbirth and fertility who was a protector for mothers and their children. Unlike some of the other gods we’ve seen in this show, she isn’t based on a comic book character. This is a rare MCU original.

In this case, because she doesn’t have a comic counterpart, it’s hard to speculate about her role. She could have come to help Marc put together his broken mind and free Khonshu. Marc will be able to use the suit’s healing abilities when the moon god is no longer stuck in a figurine. He can then fix the bullet wounds on his body.

A lot of important information about Layla is given to her in this episode, but it’s not all fun and games! During the show, Steven tells Layla that Marc pushed her away to keep her from becoming Khonshu’s next avatar. Layla gives him a kiss as a reward for being honest (then Marc makes him punch himself in the face).

'Moon Knight' Episode 4: The Trippy Ending Is Cleared UpLayla is also shown to be the MCU version of Marlene Alraune, Marc’s wife and sometimes partner with Moon Knight in the comic books. She learns that Marc was part of the group that killed her father and his team of archeologists.

“My partner was greedy, and he killed everyone at the dig site,” Marc says, adding that he was killed when he tried to stop the killings. A lot of people think Khonshu saved him in exchange for him becoming the moon god’s avatar, which is how he came to be.

Observations and Easter eggs

Is it possible that Marc’s mental illness is made worse by the guilt of not telling Layla the truth? This hasn’t been in the show yet. In the comics, he has dissociative identity disorder because he had a bad childhood.

As soon as Dr. Steven Grant is named, we hear a piece of music that sounds like it could have come straight from John Williams’ Indiana Jones score. The guardian was likely there to keep people from finding Ammit’s ushabti. Wow, that’s great.

In the mental institution scene, it looks like Legion, which was a great Marvel show that ran from 2017 to 2019. It isn’t part of the MCU, but it is on Hulu and could be a good movie to watch with Moon Knight because it talks about mental health.

Jeff Lemire’s comic book run in 2016 was the inspiration for this scene, the movie’s directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead told Entertainment Weekly. They run by another sarcophagus after Marc frees Steven from the sarcophagus. It’s shaking very quickly. Another one of Marc’s personalities, like Jake Lockley, may be in this. He almost certainly stabbed a lot of Harrow’s goons in episode 3.

When episode 5 of Moon Knight comes out on Disney Plus next Wednesday, April 27, we’ll be back with more Easter eggs and other fun facts.

Armor Wars Movie: from Marvel Disney+ Series To A Film

Due to creative adjustments, the TV series starring Don Cheadle will now be turned into an MCU – Armor Wars movie. The most of the Disney+ series that Marvel Studios had planned have already been released, but Armor Wars has been stuck in development for a while. Even though it had been announced in 2020, James Rhodes’ spinoff show hadn’t received any updates until 2022. In 2008’s Iron Man, Terrence Howard played Rhodes; in Iron Man 2, Cheadle took over as War Machine, and he has since continued to feature in several MCU projects.

Despite being a part of Phase 5, the Armor Wars TV series on Disney+ is being redesigned as an MCU – Armor Wars movie, with Don Cheadle remaining attached to play War Machine.

War Machine is followed by Armor Wars following Phase 3, which resulted in the demise of his closest friend, Tony Stark. The Disney+ drama will, according to confirmation, follow the events of Secret Invasion, in which Cheadle will next play the Marvel character. Despite Disney’s commitment to creating the series, Armor Wars was not included in any of the Phases 5 or 6 slates that Marvel Studios presented at San Diego Comic-Con. One of the key Armor Wars stories, according to Cheadle in an interview from earlier this month, would include Tony Stark’s technology going out into the open, with Rhodey having to stop the wrong people from using it.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Armor Wars is being retooled into a feature picture, causing a significant shake-up within Marvel Studios. The company decided that a movie would be a better choice as opposed to a 6-episode series since they were dedicated to “having the tale conveyed the proper way.” The movie’s screenplay will be written by the film’s head writer, Yassir Lester, who is still employed. Production had been planned to begin in 2023, but this most recent development has forced a postponement. The Armor Wars information was released shortly after the director of the Blade reboot was fired.

How the MCU Will Be Affected by the Filming of Armor Wars Movie

Armor Wars

While Armor Wars’ continual postponement is a problem in and of itself, Cheadle’s character might gain from the film’s decision. Despite the fact that War Machine has been in a lot of MCU movies, he has never been the main character in any of the plots. Despite Rhodes having his own show at first, a feature film offers him a greater stage for obvious reasons. Additionally, this would give War Machine his own cinematic prominence after serving as Iron Man’s sidekick throughout the duration of the MCU. Marvel has adapted a product from one medium to another before, and Armor Wars is hardly the only instance of this. The Royal Family was supposed to have its own Phase 3 movie before The Inhumans became a TV show, but instead received a short series on ABC that had a poor outcome.

The length of Armor Wars’ delay as a result of the move from Disney+ to theaters is yet unknown. Armor Wars may have to wait until Phase 6 even if it takes place after Secret Invasion unless Marvel discovers a window in Phase 5 that makes sense. Due to the enormous lag between the conclusion of Secret Invasion and the release of Cheadle’s movie, it’s probable that the tie-ins from Secret Invasion will be eliminated if Armor Wars is redeveloped as a feature film. There is a likelihood that Armor Wars was always a Phase 6 project because the slate wasn’t fully revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. It is unclear how Armor Wars will fare as a movie unless Cheadle, Feige, and Marvel Studios make announcements.
