The Italian actress is the ideal summer fashion icon and defined 90s screen siren style.

Monica Bellucci is a film siren who only appears once in a lifetime. Bellucci came into the Italian cinema scene in the early 1990s with her bellissima beauty (she had posed for Dolce & Gabbana and French Elle) and distinctive sex appeal, following in the footsteps of Frederico Fellini’s femme fatales and Michelangelo Antonioni’s brooding bombshells. Beyond that, Bellucci brings a no-holds-barred devotion and scorching passion to her work, whether she’s portraying the clever ingénue in L’appartement, the unfairly-scorned eponymous Malèna, or the protagonist of Gaspar Noé’s truly terrifying Irréversible. Through a collection of her most famous ensembles, we chronicle Bellucci’s distinctive cinematic career and unmistakable personal style.

90s with Valentino

Bellucci started her career as a fashion model, appearing in campaigns and walking for some of her home Italy’s most prominent design labels before becoming the celebrated actress she is today. Bellucci became a modern-day inspiration for Valentino Garavani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gianni Versace, channeling the allure of Italian cinema sirens of the past such as Sophia Loren, Monica Vitti, and Claudia Cardinale. She’s seen here with Valentino in the early 1990s, wearing one of his famous (and extremely Bellucci-esque) bustier evening gowns. Bellucci continues to inspire these same historical businesses in the twenty-first century: she walked the catwalk for Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer collection only last year.

1991, in _La Riffa_**

You’ve undoubtedly seen this picture before if you follow any Instagram moodboard worth its salt. It was this shot, this writer thinks, that single-handedly began the puffy headband fad last summer. The image is from Bellucci’s first film, _La Riffa,_ an Italian comedy-drama in which she portrays young widow Francesca. And when it comes to the polished early-90s looks Bellucci pulls in the film, this famous taupe satin headband is just the tip of the iceberg: slip dresses with crystal-embellished straps, shoulder suits of all kinds — black wool, grey herringbone — soft shearling jackets, silk scrunchies, and fluid trench coats.

In 1997, during the Cannes Film Festival

This portrait of Monica Bellucci taken during the 1997 Cannes Film Festival was described by Italian fashion magazine Amica as “history.” The assertion isn’t even close to being exaggerated. Bellucci poses for dramatic effect while a stylist ices her neck in a large diamond necklace in the now-iconic picture sequence, which was shot as part of a Cartier promotional event. It’s a moment that established, and continues to define, Bellucci’s unique style of complete extravagance and splendor.

In the year 2000, during the premiere of All The Pretty Horses,

While Bellucci’s style is most typically associated with her famous bombshell gowns, the actress also enjoys a suiting moment. Shirting worn by males, especially with a black and lacy underpinning. The actress dressed up her signature style for the red carpet premiere of _All the Pretty Horses_, pairing enormous French cuffs and a plunging neckline with a satin-trimmed tuxedo jacket.

In 1997, during the Dobermann premiere

And here’s one of the slinky evening gowns with the Bellucci trademark. Straps that are hardly there? Check. Detailed in a more opulent manner? Is it as dark as night? Check and double-check. This one is of the very desirable minimalist kind from the 1990s. Take a look at the chain link straps and the clean silhouette. Bellissima.

In _The Matrix Reloaded_**, 2003**, she played Persephone.

Bellucci is most known in the United States for her portrayal as Persephone in Lana and Lilly Wachowski’s The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Costume designer Kym Barrett went all out for Bellucci’s on-set attire, as she did for the rest of the trilogy’s amazing outfitting (think Neo’s billowing trench, Trinity’s zippered catsuit). Persephone’s most memorable costume is perhaps Bellucci’s: a near-sheer latex peplum dress that represents both the character’s elegance and artificiality (after all, she is a computer program!).

In 2004, at the Cannes Film Festival,

Bellucci wore a light as air flowery chiffon dress at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, a change from her usual somber (read: all black) ensembles. What was the occasion? To commemorate Gaspard Noé’s frightening and terrifying arthouse drama Irreversible’s nomination. Bellucci as Alex, carefree, lying on a bright orange beach blanket, reading a book, wearing a flowery sundress, was maybe wearing the look as a tribute to the film’s closing, hopeful-hopeless picture.

Who Looks More Stunning in a Red Dress, Scarlett Johansson or Elizabeth Olsen?

The youngest Olsen sibling, formerly dwarfed by her older sisters, has grown up. She claims to be 32, although she seems much younger. At Saturday night’s 33rd Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles, Elizabeth wowed in a bold red sheer lace Zuhair Murad outfit that highlighted her amazing physique. The actress looked both sultry and refined in her choice of wardrobe. One of the actors that caught our attention was Elizabeth Olsen, who donned a Zuhair Murad bespoke gown and Jimmy Choo stiletto sandals. Her all-ruby-red outfit is stunning and clearly draws inspiration from the designer’s spring/summer 2018 collection. A thin lace dress like Elizabeth’s would look stunning in this colour of red for an evening out on the town. The midi-length gown accentuates her figure thanks to the mirror-image lace work down the garment and the corset-style bodice. Check out her attire below: –

Scarlett Johansson, who also appeared in “The Avengers,” wore a garment quite identical to the one in question. She didn’t wear it to an event, but the photographs she snapped of herself in it are undeniably sultry. Her hair was done in a classic updo, and she wore minimal makeup. Her cherry red dress matched the colour of lipstick she was carrying, and her eyes were captivating. While the overall style of her clothing was comparable to that of Elizabeth’s, the shearing pattern was unique to her own. Look at Scarlett in that dress: –

How Monica Bellucci always looks so young

30 September 2014 The actress Monica Bellucci will be 50. She is still one of the most stunning and seductive ladies on the planet despite being far from youthful.

A gathering was hosted in Moscow in March 2014 to celebrate the launch of a new Dolce & Gabbana store. The party’s primary attraction was the incomparable Monica Bellucci. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, two fashion designers, and the actress have a close bond. In the late 1980s, Bellucci made her modeling debut in the Dolce & Gabbana show. She has been promoting this fashion brand’s clothing, perfumes, and cosmetics for about ten years now. The journalists, Russian celebrities, and ordinary admirers of her talent described the Italian actress as luxurious, sophisticated, exquisite, and singular. The actress, who is approaching her 50th birthday, looks gorgeous despite her recent divorce.

One of the few women who age gracefully is Monica Bellucci. She encourages all women to follow her lead because she has figured out how to accept herself at any age. The Italian beauty’s visage makes it clear that she resisted the trend for “beauty injections” and only occasionally makes use of cosmetic surgery’s advancements. This makes Monica Bellucci appear really authentic. Bellucci is stunning without makeup and has traditionally attractive facial features. However, the actress acknowledges that she finds it impossible to envision her existence without makeup. She loves lipstick and mascara for beauty goods. Her brown eyes are highlighted by the eyeshadow’s delicate selection of light gray or brown hues.

The key elements of Monica Bellucci’s look include a floor-length dress, high heels, natural makeup, and beautiful black hair. This actress has frequently appeared on lists of the sexiest and most attractive women in the world. The Italian movie star’s physique might be used as the benchmark for femininity. She doesn’t make an effort to meet the expectations of beauty set by Hollywood and the fashion industry. Monica’s weight stabilized at around 68 kg after the birth of her second child, but the actress was in no rush to start a diet. She was breastfeeding, which was her main concern.

Monica Bellucci has frequently stated that she doesn’t take any additional measures to maintain her physical fitness. She doesn’t exercise or follow a diet. The actress chuckles and says, “I’m too lazy for that.” The actress prefers to wear black clothing that conceals her imperfections rather than working out at a gym until she is exhausted. If she wants to drop weight for a certain job, she just switches to lower-calorie foods, and the pounds naturally disappear. With a height of 175 centimeters, Monica weighs between 64 and 66 kg. By Hollywood standards, this is almost a catastrophe. However, Bellucci has always stood out since she never tried to uphold the standards.
