Photographer Vincent Peters discusses why he uses classic celebrity images in his work.

Vincent Peters, a 52-year-old German-born photographer, is still a young guy in comparison to the great lensmen with whom he is sometimes compared.

Peters loves to shoot on film and chooses black-and-white for the majority of his work; his images have a classic, timeless appearance. His portraits and fashion editorials have adorned the pages of major publications such as Vogue, Glamour, GQ, and many more during the last 25 years.

Vincent Peters: Selected Works, published by German luxury publisher teNeues in conjunction with a major solo exhibition titled Light Within at Fotografiska museum in Stockholm, exemplifies this beautiful approach to his chosen medium.

Vincent Peters: Selected Works, published by German luxury publisher teNeues in conjunction with a major solo exhibition titled Light Within at Fotografiska museum in Stockholm, exemplifies this beautiful approach to his chosen medium.

Over 200 pictures, including some of Peters’ most memorable celebrity portraits of Emma Watson, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Laetitia Casta, John Malkovich, and Mickey Rourke, are included in the book.

As Fotografiska puts it, Peters aims to “communicate personal interaction without the need to be provocatively upsetting to generate an effect.” “He believes that the importance of personal interaction is eroding, and that our digital age is more about provoking a response rather than building conversation.”

We had a conversation with Peters on this and other topics:

Was your work first thought to be a little too artistic? What was it about fashion and portrait photography that attracted you in?

I used to work in galleries, but when I got into fashion photography, there was a certain convergence of painting, fashion, and conceptual concepts. Photographers with ideas, rather than established prestige, were sought by magazines such as The Face and Dazed and Confused. The importance of authorship could hardly be overstated.

What steps did you take to establish your own style over time? And how have you managed to stay loyal to yourself and your vision?

If you’re honest with yourself, I believe there is a lengthy seeking process that takes you back home. Discovering deeper layers of early influences in your work that are genuinely shocking is a revelation process. Your own style, in my opinion, is just a visible manifestation of the sensibility you’ve always had in your head.

What makes you want to watch a movie instead of reading a book? How do you feel about digital technology?

It’s a really emotional process for me, and I respond to film and its quality a lot more. I also appreciate the filmmaking process since I am not instantly faced with the end result, as I would be if I shot digitally. It normally takes a few days, if not weeks, for me to notice the benefits. My mind has already gone on by that time, and I perceive the images in a new light. When shooting film, you have a lot less control, which I prefer.

Why did you decide to make the book and exhibition entirely black-and-white?

Photography is similar to music in that you choose the instrument to perform your song or convey a certain emotion. The instrument that plays the music I prefer to hear is the black-and-white atmosphere. It’s more jazz-like.

What things continue to inspire you after 25 years, and where do you go for new ideas?

“Don’t search for the cosmos if you have the stars within yourself,” I like to recall. Any meaningful creative process, in my opinion, revolves on introspection. Through everything we accumulate through time, there is an inspiration within you. It just has to be developed like a film that hasn’t been exposed.

What are the distinctions between shooting models and celebrities, as well as the obstacles they pose?

It’s a completely unique approach! A model understands precisely what you’re looking for, but a celebrity adds personality and character on a whole other level. Because the model is more neutral, it may be preferable to work with if you have a strong vision.

A celebrity will always be more of a painting…. I like shooting individuals and incorporating them into the settings I create in my brain. I like seeing how they portray the character and how the camera interprets/records it.

What direction do you believe photography will go in the next ten years?

The advent of social media and iPhone cameras revolutionized photography. Everyone became a photographer as a result of it. There’s a lot to be said about why photography is so popular, and why we feel compelled to shoot every minute of our ever-exhilarating existence. Photography is a response to a deeper societal urge for everything to be accessible and available.

What are the most pressing issues confronting today’s young photographers?

A challenging task for new photographers today, in my opinion, is to establish their own ideas and style in an increasingly commercial and result-oriented business. There isn’t much room to try new things and make mistakes!

Who would you want to collaborate with next?

There are always names and individuals I’d want to see in front of my lens or see how they’d look in “my movie,” just as you’d like to see certain actresses in a Hitchcock picture and see how they’d look.

That said, I’d want to travel to Kabul and photograph ladies on the street, and I’m curious what it would look like if I took a photograph of them that spoke to me. We all have a subconscious filter that influences how we see reality.

You just have a better technical grasp of how to visualize it as a photographer.

Who Looks More Stunning in a Red Dress, Scarlett Johansson or Elizabeth Olsen?

The youngest Olsen sibling, formerly dwarfed by her older sisters, has grown up. She claims to be 32, although she seems much younger. At Saturday night’s 33rd Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles, Elizabeth wowed in a bold red sheer lace Zuhair Murad outfit that highlighted her amazing physique. The actress looked both sultry and refined in her choice of wardrobe. One of the actors that caught our attention was Elizabeth Olsen, who donned a Zuhair Murad bespoke gown and Jimmy Choo stiletto sandals. Her all-ruby-red outfit is stunning and clearly draws inspiration from the designer’s spring/summer 2018 collection. A thin lace dress like Elizabeth’s would look stunning in this colour of red for an evening out on the town. The midi-length gown accentuates her figure thanks to the mirror-image lace work down the garment and the corset-style bodice. Check out her attire below: –

Scarlett Johansson, who also appeared in “The Avengers,” wore a garment quite identical to the one in question. She didn’t wear it to an event, but the photographs she snapped of herself in it are undeniably sultry. Her hair was done in a classic updo, and she wore minimal makeup. Her cherry red dress matched the colour of lipstick she was carrying, and her eyes were captivating. While the overall style of her clothing was comparable to that of Elizabeth’s, the shearing pattern was unique to her own. Look at Scarlett in that dress: –

How Monica Bellucci always looks so young

30 September 2014 The actress Monica Bellucci will be 50. She is still one of the most stunning and seductive ladies on the planet despite being far from youthful.

A gathering was hosted in Moscow in March 2014 to celebrate the launch of a new Dolce & Gabbana store. The party’s primary attraction was the incomparable Monica Bellucci. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, two fashion designers, and the actress have a close bond. In the late 1980s, Bellucci made her modeling debut in the Dolce & Gabbana show. She has been promoting this fashion brand’s clothing, perfumes, and cosmetics for about ten years now. The journalists, Russian celebrities, and ordinary admirers of her talent described the Italian actress as luxurious, sophisticated, exquisite, and singular. The actress, who is approaching her 50th birthday, looks gorgeous despite her recent divorce.

One of the few women who age gracefully is Monica Bellucci. She encourages all women to follow her lead because she has figured out how to accept herself at any age. The Italian beauty’s visage makes it clear that she resisted the trend for “beauty injections” and only occasionally makes use of cosmetic surgery’s advancements. This makes Monica Bellucci appear really authentic. Bellucci is stunning without makeup and has traditionally attractive facial features. However, the actress acknowledges that she finds it impossible to envision her existence without makeup. She loves lipstick and mascara for beauty goods. Her brown eyes are highlighted by the eyeshadow’s delicate selection of light gray or brown hues.

The key elements of Monica Bellucci’s look include a floor-length dress, high heels, natural makeup, and beautiful black hair. This actress has frequently appeared on lists of the sexiest and most attractive women in the world. The Italian movie star’s physique might be used as the benchmark for femininity. She doesn’t make an effort to meet the expectations of beauty set by Hollywood and the fashion industry. Monica’s weight stabilized at around 68 kg after the birth of her second child, but the actress was in no rush to start a diet. She was breastfeeding, which was her main concern.

Monica Bellucci has frequently stated that she doesn’t take any additional measures to maintain her physical fitness. She doesn’t exercise or follow a diet. The actress chuckles and says, “I’m too lazy for that.” The actress prefers to wear black clothing that conceals her imperfections rather than working out at a gym until she is exhausted. If she wants to drop weight for a certain job, she just switches to lower-calorie foods, and the pounds naturally disappear. With a height of 175 centimeters, Monica weighs between 64 and 66 kg. By Hollywood standards, this is almost a catastrophe. However, Bellucci has always stood out since she never tried to uphold the standards.
