Once again, Wong is wherever you look.
Wong seems to be the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or at the very least its superhero fixer. Disney revealed today that Benedict Wong would reprise his role as Sorceror Supreme Wong in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. This makes him the most frequent character in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Wong’s Phase 4 appearances began with an appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Additionally, he appears in What If…, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With the addition of She-Hulk, Wong has now appeared in five Marvel Studios productions during this time.
In a previous interview, Benedict Wong made a joke regarding this topic. “I’ve dubbed it Phase Wong. It’s a pleasant and intriguing change. Wong has assumed a new position, altering the relationship between them [Wong and Strange] “Wong told Empire Magazine for issue 400 in May.
He will be joined by Tatiana Maslany, the series’ lead, as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, and Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination. Jessica Gao is the chief writer for the nine-episode series, while Kat Coiro and Anu Valia direct separate episodes. The release of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+ will begin on August 17, 2022.
Prior to the release of this series, Ms. Marvel will debut on June 8, 2022, while Thor: Love and Thunder will enter cinemas on July 8, 2022.
We have no idea how much Phase Wong is remaining. Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and Blade are the remaining film releases. Echo, an unnamed Halloween special, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, and Agatha: House of Harkness are all available on Disney+. Thor: Love and Thunder, Blade, the untitled Halloween special, and Agatha: House of Harkness all include a little amount of magic, paving the road for the Sorcerer Supreme.
