The original BMW M3 CSL is still one of the most desired BMW automobiles in the world. It was also the most outlandish automobile BMW has ever produced. It was the first BMW with a carbon fiber roof, an asymmetrical air intake in the front bumper, a spectacular carbon fiber intake manifold, and an unique SMG automated-manual transmission. Its naturally aspirated 3.2-liter inline-six produced 360 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The E46 M3 CSL is largely considered to be the best-driving BMW ever.
While the BMW M3 CSL will be discontinued, the first-ever M4 CSL will take its place as the pinnacle sportscar in the M3/M4 family. The M4 CSL was recently showcased before coming on sale in a limited run of 1,000 vehicles later this year. According to a reliable source, the 2023 BMW M3 CS will have 540 horsepower, which is slightly less than the 550 horsepower of the 2023 BMW M4 CSL.
