BMW of North America has announced the release of a limited edition BMW M3. The BMW M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M commemorates the 50th anniversary of the M division and will be limited to 500 units. The M3 Edition 50 Jahre is based on the 2023 BMW M3 Competition xDrive and comes in five classic colors that symbolize the past five generations of M3 cars.
The Classic M Colors Are Back
Cinnabar Red represents the E30 M3, Techno Violet represents the E36 M3, Deep Interlagos Blue represents the E46, Fire Orange III represents the E92, and Limerock Grey represents the F80. Two of the hues, Techno Violet and Interlagos Blue, were resurrected specifically for this Edition and will be offered exclusively on the M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M for model year 2023 beginning in July.
Each M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will be outfitted with forged Style 826M wheels finished in matte Orbit Grey. M Compound brakes are also available with red, blue, or black calipers. The M Carbon Ceramic brakes come standard with gold calipers.
The 50 Jahre BMW M edition has a carbon fiber front splitter. The characteristic M quad tailpipes are wrapped in carbon fiber and titanium, and the trunk lid has a M Performance carbon fiber spoiler. The hood, trunk, and wheel center caps all have classic BMW Motorsport insignia.
iDrive 8 and Curved Display
Inside, “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” inscription on the door sill trims greets the driver and passenger. An aluminum plaque on the cupholder lid serves as a reminder that this is a very unusual M3. Customers may choose between the basic M Sport seats and the optional track-ready M Carbon bucket seats, both of which are upholstered only in Black Extended Merino leather. The inclusion of the enormous curved display with iDrive 8 is the most significant alteration on the interior.
The 50 Jahre BMW M Boardcase is included with the car. This 42L roll-aboard suitcase is made of lightweight Makrolon Polycarbonate and has the 50 Jahre BMW M emblem on the front.
The M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M will be offered in a single, well-equipped variant. The Executive and Parking Assistance packages, Icon Adaptive LED headlights with Laserlight, carbon fiber inside trim, wireless device charging, and M Shadowline headlights are all included. Customers just need to choose an exterior color, brake caliper color, and seat style. The only choices are the M Carbon Ceramic Brakes and M Carbon bucket seats.
Only 500 pieces will be produced, with a starting price of $95,700.
