This is because the Marvel Cinematic Universe did such a good job of making its world that many stories from the Marvel comics it was based on were mixed up.
There are a lot of new people who have become fans of Marvel because of the Marvel movie universe. Many of these fans had never read Marvel Comics before, so what they know about the heroes came from the movies. They learned about them. Even if you only read a few pages of a book, you might now have a different idea about the origins and stories of some heroes because of movies.
There is a reason for that: The MCU didn’t take the stories from the old Marvel Comics. They took a mix of Marvel Comics heroes, the Ultimate Marvel Comics heroes, and added a little bit of their own flavor to the movies for the big screen. As a result, some Marvel fans might find it hard to understand the Marvel canon.
Captain America wasn’t the first Avenger.
When it comes to Captain America and the Avengers, a lot of people get it wrong. After Iron Man and two S.H.I.E.L.D agents, Nick Fury asked Captain America to help lead the team when it was first formed. As long as you read the comics, Cap isn’t a member of the Avengers.
Many comic book fans even think he was one of the first members. He’s not. This is what the original team looked like: Iron Man and Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, and the Hulk. When Captain America was thawed in issue #4, he was asked to join the team.
Tony Stark made Ultron/Vision.
It was a big change in Avengers: Age of Ultron when Tony Stark and Bruce Banner were both in charge of making Ultron. During the MCU, Stark had an AI that he called JARRVIVIS, and he and Banner built a robot body that could protect the United States. Together, the two became Ultron.
In the comics, that did not happen. Jarvis wasn’t an AI, but he was the butler for the Avengers, so he was an AI. Another person who made Ultron to protect the planet was Hank Pym. He was already old and retired when the movies were made in the MCU. Pym didn’t play the same role in the movies. In the comics, Tony Stark did a lot of bad things. This was not one of them.
Thor’s Sister is Hela
Thor: Ragnarok changed a few things from the comics in order to make it more fun. Taking the main idea from Planet Hulk and putting it in a Thor movie as a side story was one thing. It also changed everything about the Grandmaster, which is how it was before. However, there is one big thing that it changed that many people have mixed up with Marvel canon.
Hela became Thor’s sister because of the movie. This is not how she looks in the comics. In the story, Hela was a goddess from Hel. She was not related to Thor or Odin in any way. Thor also had a brother named Balder in the comics, but he didn’t show up in any MCU movies.
No, the Scarlet Witch Is not Magneto’s Daughter
MCU fans were always waiting for this to happen even though it wasn’t mentioned in any of the movies. The fans would wonder if Scarlet Witch would help lead the mutants into the MCU when something was said. The main point was that Magneto was her father, and that made it the perfect time for her.
This is a mistake that a lot of people who watch Marvel movies and read comic books still make. She is not related to Magneto in Marvel’s story, but they are both superheroes. In the beginning, she thought that he was her father. When she cast a spell to get rid of all of her relatives, he didn’t seem to notice. She soon found out that he wasn’t her father after all.
All of Hawkeye’s Life He’s Been A Military Agent.
He was one of the Ultimates characters that the MCU took away from the Ultimates Universe. His whole life has been shown in the movies as him fighting for the United States as part of S.H.I.E,L,D, which he has done for the whole time. When Black Widow was in the Red Room, he was there to help her get out. He has always been a good soldier.
That isn’t Hawkeye from the Marvel universe, at least not in the main universe. Then, he used to be a circus act, but he joined the Masters of Evil there. He turned out to be a good person in the end, but for most of his superhero career, he was completely against authority. This is not how he was portrayed in the movie.
Yondu was in Star-story. Lord’s
People who read the comics say that MCU made an interesting change when it came to the Guardians of the Galaxy. It completely changed the comics’ time line. In the Marvel Comics canon, there was a team called the Guardians of the Galaxy that was made a long time ago. The team in the movies came together around the same time in the comics.
There were some big changes for Star-Lord, though. In the MCU, Yondu took Peter Quill away for his dad, but he didn’t give him back to him. The MCU changed who Quill’s father was, but Yondu was a member of the Guardians for a long time before this version was even made. He was not a member of the Ravagers.
Drax’s family died.
In the MCU, Drax went on a killing spree to find and kill Ronan the Accuser, who killed his family. People who follow the MCU thought this was true even though Ronan worked for Thanos at the time. Marvel Comics, on the other hand, didn’t make this happen. Drax was a very different character there.
As a real person, Drax lived on Earth and worked for Marvel Comics. Drax thought Thanos killed his family. In the end, he had his essence sent into Drax’s body, but his daughter survived and was secretly raised on Titan by Thanos’s father, where she was raised until she became Moondragon.
To be Ant-Man, Hank Pym chose Scott Lang.
He worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. at one point with his wife, Janet, who was also known as the Wasp. They know Hank Pym from the comics doesn’t look like this Hank Pym in the movies.
However, one thing that fans didn’t understand was Scott Lang from the comics. It was different in the comics than in the movies. Pym didn’t pick him like he did. When Scott stole the suit to save his daughter’s life, Pym let him keep it because he proved that he could use it to help people.
That was why Thanos snapped.
Thanos came to the MCU with one goal. It was his goal to destroy half of the universe in order to save it. He went from planet to planet and killed half the people on each one to make sure they had enough resources to live. Snapped out half of existence when he got the Infinity Gauntlet for his own use.
In the Marvel universe, his goals were not as pure as they were in the real world. Thanos didn’t care about anyone or anything being saved. To be with Lady Death, he thought that if he killed half the world, she would love him back.
Sam Wilson was a soldier.
He was a good soldier when he met Captain America and joined the Avengers. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also shows that he was still working with the military when he was in the movie. He was also someone who led groups for veterans with PTSD.
However, in the comics, he didn’t have anything to do with the army. When in fact, it was the other way around! Even though the life of crime was right in front of him, Sam wanted to be good. It was when he met Cap that he became a hero and became a social justice reformer. He chose to fight for people on the streets rather than answer to anyone from the government.
