A new trailer for Doctor Strange 2 confirms a theory about how the MCU could change.

This could change everything about the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When it comes to Stephen Strange, he’s met his match. It’s not just his evil version from another dimension. It looks like Marvel is making a lot of teasers and trailers for the new Doctor Strange movie that reuse and remix the same few minutes of spoiler-free footage over and over again. That’s not all. The most recent trailer for Doctor Strange 2 may have confirmed one fan theory about the movie.

In this story, Dr. Strange and the Illuminati work together.

Dr. Strange 2 has a new teaser trailer that mostly shows footage we’ve already seen, but at the end of the video, Mordo says the word that fans have been waiting to hear for months: “Illuminati.”

As soon as Marvel showed off its Super Bowl commercial for Doctor Strange 2, it was pretty much clear that the movie would introduce the Illuminati to the movie world of the Marvel movies. But until now, it hasn’t been proven.

Now that we know for sure that Dr. Strange is meeting the Illuminati, it also means that Professor X is almost certain to show up soon (a long-time member of the secret society in Marvel comics). Another theory about Doctor Strange 2 and what the Illuminati have been up to all this time could be true if this is true.

MCU and the Illuminati are two groups that work together

A secret group called the Illuminati is made up of the world’s most powerful people. The group is made up of:

A new trailer for Doctor Strange 2 confirms a theory about how the MCU could change.

In this case, Professor X is the one who told us “Tony Stark” is the name of a Reece Richards: It’s called “Black Bolt” (King of the Inhumans) He is called “Doctor Strange.”

We, of course, think that the MCU version will change things a little. Iron Man is known to be dead (though some fans still think we may get an alternate reality version of Stark played by Tom Cruise). We also think Captain Carter (Peggy with the Super Soldier Serum from What If…?), and maybe even Mordo, will be part of this new Illuminati line-up.

The Illuminati itself isn’t as important as what it has done. If they’re in Doctor Strange 2, it’s likely that they’ve been working behind the scenes for a long time, pulling strings at some of the MCU’s most important moments.

One popular theory even says the Illuminati made a House of M-style moment in the MCU by taking Mutants out of the MCU. If that’s true, then Doctor Strange 2 could show that Marvel characters like Wolverine have been around for a long time, fighting with the Avengers in New York, Sokovia, and Wakanda. This is a big if, but keep reading.

It might seem like a long shot. That’s not true when it comes to the Illuminati, because they can do anything.

DOCTOR STRANGE 2 comes out on May 4, 2022.
