Actor John Walker from Marvel Excited about the MCU’s Return
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may not appear in every Marvel Studios Disney+ entry, but it was the birthplace of the future Captain America, so it was still a major deal. With Steve Rogers no longer alive, it was up to Sam Wilson to take up the mantle and continue on his legacy. However, one of the hiccups in that path was the appointment of John Walker as the new Star-Spangled hero by the US Government. He obviously lost the shield and title to Anthony Mackie’s hero following his fall from favor.
This put him in an ideal position for Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Val to enlist him into whatever plan she was doing. Her operation is unknown, but when she hired John Walker, she believed he required a rebranding: US Agent.
So, what’s next for the protagonist? When can fans expect to see him again? While those questions have yet to be answered, the guy behind the anti-hero is eager to learn more.
Actor US Agent Excited for More MCU
During an interview for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven, Wyatt Russell was asked whether he’d ever want to have a Marvel Universe crossover with his co-star, Andrew Garfield.
Wyatt responded with a firm “yes,” adding that “[he’d] do a crossover with whomever they told [him] to do [one] with:”
“Sure. Let me pitch it to Kevin Feige. If you come to Marvel, you may pitch it to Kevin Feige and see what he thinks. I’ll do a crossover with anybody they tell me to.” The actor went on to state that “[he] genuinely [enjoys] portraying the role” and wants to be able to do it again in the future:
“I truly like portraying the role, and my time working with Marvel was an incredible collaborative working experience with Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Kari Skogland.” They have some incredible teams there. That is why they provide excellent results. So, whenever I receive or hear about the possibility to reprise a role or work with Marvel again, it’s incredibly thrilling because the people are fantastic. So perhaps I’ll have the chance to do it again. We will see.”
When Will the US Agent Reappear?
The pairing of US Agent with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man isn’t the most natural. It’s reasonable to assume that Secret Wars is one of the few possible scenarios that may bring those two together.
After all, John Walker has a lot of other places to go and stories to tell before he meets Multiversal Variants of MCU characters.
When viewers last saw him, he had just received a makeover from Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Val. Fans have yet to grasp why everything is happening. What is his enigmatic employer up to? And what kind of team is she putting together?
It is unknown when US Agent will return to the MCU. If that hasn’t occurred by the time Anthony Mackie’s Captain America 4 arrives, it’s a fair bet that the next adventure will be his chance to shine once again. Fans, after all, are eager to learn what Walker has been up to.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is presently available on Disney+, while Captain America 4 has no set release date.
