The first Avatar sequel will be called Avatar: The Way of Water, Disney said Wednesday at CinemaCon. This is the biggest sign yet that the long-delayed movie will be released on December 16th. In addition, the first teaser trailer for the movie is set to be shown with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which opens on May 6.
When the movie comes out, here are some words from Disney that aren’t so clear.
In Avatar: The Way of Water, Jake, Neytiri, and their kids (as well as their parents) are in trouble. They go to great lengths to keep each other safe, and they fight to stay alive in battles. This movie is set more than a decade after the first movie. In this sentence, “begins to tell” is used because there are other Avatar movies that you should be excited about. The Way of Water is not the only one. Besides Avatars 3, 4, and 5, there are also plans for Avatars 3, 4, and 5. Each is set to come out two years after the one before it. Director James Cameron once said that the sequels will make you “shit yourself with your mouth wide open.” I’m not sure what to expect, but I hope they’re good.
For a long time, Avatar was one of the best-selling movies in history. The first one came out in 2009. It’s okay if you don’t remember everything about the movie. Disney is going to show Avatar again in theaters on September 23rd.
