In the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe will not be showing off his adamantium claws any time soon.
The actor was again asked about playing Wolverine for Marvel Studios while promoting his new movie The Lost City on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week. This is a question that has been asked at least since 2019.
“People have talked about this a lot in the last few years. When it comes up, I say “That’s not true, there’s nothing behind that,” and everyone says, “Oh, he said it might be true!”
“That’s not true! I said the opposite of what you said. I said that. Every now and then, I’ll get tired of answering the question in a logical way, so I’ll make a joke about the question instead. ‘Why did you do that?’ I ask myself every time I make a joke.
“If you don’t believe me then show me. Then I started a whole new thing because I said, “Prove me wrong, Marvel.” I think it’s because Wolverine in the comics is short. People think, “Who’s a short actor?” Him! Maybe he could play him!”
Because of Hugh Jackman’s role as Logan in nine X-Men movies between 2000 and 2017, Radcliffe thought the rumors were “incredibly flattering,” even though he was angry about them at the time.
It’s interesting that the X-Men universe has finally become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the multiverse was shown in Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In this year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there looks to be the first movie crossover between Wolverine and Spider-Man. But will the Wolverine we all know and love be there, too?
