Daredevil and Kingpin will reprise their roles in Marvel’s Echo series.

Daredevil and Kingpin will return for Marvel's Echo series

Fans of Marvel’s Daredevil series were shocked when Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. When Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) joined Hawkeye on Disney Plus, their panic continued. Was Marvel preparing for a rematch between the two characters in the MCU? According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Daredevil-Kingpin reunion is in the works, and it may take place in Echo.

Daredevil and Kingpin will both appear in Echo.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio have both joined the cast of Marvel’s new Disney Plus series Echo, according to THR. Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, makes her MCU debut as the antagonist in Hawkeye.

As we discovered throughout the season, Kingpin took Maya in when her father was murdered by Ronin. There was no way a drama centered on Echo could ignore the fact that she had strong links to such a well-known evil.

According to the article, Echo would include a narrative in which Matt Murdock seeks out a former ally. According to the presenters of The Weekly Planet podcast, that ally is none other than Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter). Here are all of the additional information revealed by the hosts:

Marvel has not confirmed any intentions for either character. Having said that, it wouldn’t have made sense to bring them back if they weren’t going to play important parts in the MCU. The addition of Daredevil and Kingpin in Echo would presumably set up the rumored Daredevil revival in the works for Disney Plus.

What exactly will Echo be about?

Daredevil and Kingpin will return for Marvel's Echo series

Back in May, Marvel released the following summary for the new series:

The genesis tale of Echo, which will be available exclusively on Disney, revisits Maya Lopez, whose harsh conduct in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. If she is to go ahead, she must confront her history, reconnect with her Native American ancestors, and accept the importance of family and community. Echo also features Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian, The English), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Stumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX’s Reservation Dogs, American Gods), and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor!, Four Sheets to the Wind), as well as Graham Greene (1883, Goliath) and Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX’s Reservation Dogs).

Echo will be available on Disney Plus in 2023, but no specific date has been set.
