The Marvel comics, which generated the immensely popular MCU, is today one of the world’s most profitable franchises. The most recent addition is “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” directed by Sam Raimi and starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
The canon has encouraged individuals all across the globe to embrace what makes them unique by spawning an unlimited number of strong superheroes, terrible villains, and epic storylines.
Whether you’re a fan of the comics or the 1990s animated series that catapulted them to mainstream prominence, the Marvel brand continues to expand. With the release of blockbuster Spider-Man and X-MEN films in the early 2000s, we have gone a long way toward a full-scale multiverse Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With some of the world’s highest-grossing blockbusters as well as some of the most popular television shows, the MCU’s expansion will reach new heights. So, who are your favorite characters? What about the “Avengers,” “Black Widow,” “Spider-Man,” “The Eternals,” “Hawkeye,” the Scarlet Witch, or Doctor Strange? Or the soon-to-be-released X-MEN?
The Post met exclusively with two emerging figures in American geekdom, Paul Florez-Taylor — known as the Comic King — and Luke James — known as Pop Media Maven — to better comprehend the complicated personalities in the Marvel world. We collaborated as a team to compile the comprehensive list of Marvel characters who correspond to astrology and the zodiac. Follow the Comic King and Luke James to stay up to date on anything geeky!
What is it about Marvel that makes it so popular?
Marvel’s vast universe has produced a surprising amount of tales and characters that have stayed with people. From the iconic characters of Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and others, their storylines communicate such meaningful narratives that allow the audience to escape reality while forming an affinity with the characters. We can empathize with them and their difficulties. The wonderful thing about Marvel is that they can construct such a rich and linked universe with so many characters and storyline threads that the storytelling possibilities are almost limitless. (As an example, consider the forthcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.)
ARIES : Captain Marvel (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19)
Strong, self-sufficient, and brave. Carol Danvers embodies the irrepressible energy that all Aries possess, whether she’s facing up against our favorite southern belle, Rogue, in the comics or Thanos in “Avengers: Endgame.” Captain Marvel has an extremely aggressive attitude to life, yet that doesn’t stop her from being an excellent teammate, combatant, problem solver, and leader. Aries are well-known for having similar characteristics. We can’t wait to see Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani return in “The Marvels” and form a new legendary MCU trio!
TAURUS: BLACK PANTHER (APRIL 20 – MAY 20)
In the Marvel Universe, no one is more of a Taurus than T’Challa — majestic but modest. At “Avengers: Infinity War,” he welcomed the Avengers to Wakanda during their darkest hour and led the fight against Thanos. He is deeply committed to his ideas and traditions, and his devotion to Wakanda will not be forgotten. Is it any surprise that this Earth sign symbolizes the finest of humanity? Chadwick Boseman, we miss you. Forever Wakanda!
GEMINI: The Iron Man (MAY 21–JUNE 20)
Tony Stark was destined to be played by Robert Downey Jr. Tony Stark, like every other Gemini on the globe, doesn’t simply stroll into a room. He makes an appearance! And we ordinary humans are immediately captivated to his loud but sly demeanor, which leaves us wanting more. His unwavering confidence and charm can persuade almost anybody to do his bidding, despite the fact that he is completely capable of doing everything himself. Tony 3000, we adore you!
CANCER: SPIDER-MAN (JUNE 21 – JULY 22)
Tobey Maguire Garfield, Andrew Holland, Tom. All of their Spider-Man versions exhibit Cancer’s energetic and lively energy, which makes the world a better place. Whether it’s Miles Morales or Peter Parker, Spider-young Man’s and wide-eyed optimism has kept him alive in the face of the Sinister Six, the universe, and a superhero “Civil War.” “With great power comes great responsibility,” said every iteration of Uncle Ben (or Aunt May in Tom Holland’s version), and that’s the exact guideline that Spider-Man observes throughout his whole career. He is aware that he bears a heavy burden on his shoulders, and he strives to safeguard the people of New York, the globe, and his closest friends and family. He never lets his guard down, and he always has his spider-sense to help him connect with his intuition. Cancers have comparable traits.
LEO: THOR (JULY 23 – AUGUST 22)
Thunder, the god of thunder, is the patron of all Leos. Beautiful, free-spirited, and endearing. What other way might you characterize this fire sign? Is it just a coincidence that Chris Hemsworth is a Leo? We doubt it. We believe that being the god of Thunder and the son of Odin would go to anyone’s head! Thor’s vanity ensures that everyone knows who he is! Thor has been a recurring character in many great Avenger storylines, and we can’t wait to watch Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster wield Mjölnir in “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
VIRGO: CAPTAIN AMERICA (AUGUST 23 – SEPTEMBER 22)
Steve Rogers is unquestionably an earth sign. Virgos are diligent, dependable, and kind. They also stand up to bullies and constantly put others’ needs ahead of their own. Steve Rogers is one of the most committed and persevering characters in the Marvel Universe, and he will go to any length to prove the truth. Not only that, but his devotion to those closest to him is so great that he would go to any length to defend their innocence. His devotion to Bucky is a perfect illustration of how he realized deep down that he was still his buddy from 1930. They are dependable at any assignment and also know how to love tenderly (even if they are late to the dance).
LIBRA: ELEKTRA (SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 22)
Jennifer Garner’s depiction of Elektra in both “Daredevil” and the highly panned film “Elektra” is one of our favorites. (That’s right, we said it.) But, to be honest, Elektra’s brave and stubborn attitude, like that of a Libra, inspires everyone around her. There’s a reason she constantly reincarnates after death. The Libra spirit is unbreakable. She not only packs a punch, but her electrifying tenacity enables her to be as lovely as she is fearsome.
SCORPIO: DOCTOR STRANGE (Oct. 23–Nov. 21)
Only a real Scorpio could triumph against the dark arts. When a Scorpio meets a difficulty, they, like Doctor Strange, look outside the box to fix it. Determined and elusive, this water sign is known for exuding inventiveness and has an unrivaled sense of self across the universe. Stephen Strange is a cool and crafty character with a great combination of talent and intelligence that allows him to defeat practically every adversary he faces.
SAGITTARIUS : WOLVERINE (NOV. 22 – DEC. 21)
Sagittarians all march to the beat of their own drum, and it’ll be a cold day in hell before they take the first offer. Wolverine’s no-nonsense demeanor exemplifies the lasting Sagittarius character, which values being the best at what you do and getting the job done correctly so you have more time to enjoy your beer and spend quality time with your chosen family. Logan is also not afraid to be a lone ranger and venture off the beaten path. He is defiant and very difficult to tame due to his healing factor since he fears no one. Sagittarius has several of these features as well.
CAPRICORN : LUKE CAGE (DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19)
Bulletproof, unbeatable, and inspiring those around them. Luke Cage, like other Capricorns, is tough not just physically but also spiritually. There is nothing he cannot conquer. Capricorns are the throbbing heart of whatever team they are a part of. They are Apollonian in nature, with a go-to bestie, a corny slogan, and are always willing to be recruited for a job that benefits others.
AQUARIUS : RISK-TAKER (JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18)
Aquarians are exceptional souls who are fiercely independent. Anyone who has read Frank Miller’s “Born Again” storyline knows that Matt Murdock exudes Aquarius energy because nothing stops in his way of his ultimate aim. Despite his inability to see, Matt Murdock never backs down from a challenge (except maybe reading). With his echolocation talents, he is not just aware of his surroundings, but also extremely calculating, drawing in every information he discovers to aid him during a confrontation. Side note: How pumped were you to see Charlie Cox in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”? Big things are on the way.
PISCES : SCARLET WITCH (FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20)
Wanda, like many Pisces, is a daydreamer. After all, she created a complete universe in which she had a lovely family and cared about Vision that wasn’t even genuine. However, this does not diminish the fact that all Pisces have experienced adversity and, like their water element, may be flexible and adaptive to any challenges life throws at them. Pisces and Wanda Maximoff will not be bashful about expressing or vocalizing their feelings. Wanda was able to overcome any hurdle despite all of the setbacks she faced. The Scarlet Witch has been famous in comics for decades — we adore her in “West Coast Avengers” and “Force Works” — but Elizabeth Olsen is without a doubt the one who made our favorite witch a household name. The multiverse had better be ready!
