A new poster for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder portrays King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). These characters return from earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe installments: Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, and Foster from Thor and Thor: The Dark World. However, this will be their first face-to-face encounter.
The forthcoming MCU film will depict the original God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) at a point in his life when he is unsure what he wants to do with his life after the events of Avengers: Endgame. His search for inner serenity is abruptly disrupted when a cosmic murderer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) embarks on a mission to destroy all gods. Thor must now enlist the assistance of his extraterrestrial buddy Korg (Taika Waititi), New Asgard’s King Valkyrie, and his old love Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor to stop the enemy.

The first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder was released approximately a month ago to widespread acclaim, with 209 million views in its first 24 hours.
It finished with a scene of Portman’s return as Jane Foster, this time wielding a reforged Mjlnir as the Mighty Thor, with lots of action and spectacular visual effects set to Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” Since the film’s announcement at the 2019 Comic-Con, people all around the globe have been wondering how a human figure like Foster gained this new power and how Mjlnir was rebuilt. With a theatrical release date of less than two months away, a second trailer for Marvel Studios’ upcoming feature should be available very soon.
With Valkyrie and Jane Foster each having distinct backgrounds and chemistry with the God of Thunder, it will be interesting to watch how these two characters ultimately encounter. Of course, although the humorous banter should be entertaining, it’ll be far more interesting to watch how they operate together in action. Perhaps the second Thor: Love and Thunder teaser will reveal a peek of it.
