Morbius: Is Spider-Man real in this world?
Because some things about the Morbius and Venom movies aren’t very clear, the post-credits scenes in this weekend’s superhero movie are a little bit funny. When Michael Keaton’s Vulture, a villain from Spider-Man: Homecoming, was sent to the universe where Jared Leto’s character Morbius, the Living Vampire, was. It was already a little weird. He doesn’t seem to care about never seeing his wife and daughter again. That’s even more weird. It turns out that he doesn’t want to help anyone. He just wants to team up with a freaking vampire to “do some good.”
It’s weird just by itself that the Morbius post-credits scenes are weird. But then comes the big surprise. “I’m not sure, but I think it has something to do with Spider-Man.” That’s what Vulture says when our dear Dr. Michael Morbius asks him how he got here. Think about it for a second: Morbius, a movie that’s almost certain to be in the same universe as Tom Hardy’s Venom movies (more on that below), has never once mentioned Spider-Man! Hardy’s Venom didn’t even know about a red-and-blue wallcrawler until he was taken into the Marvel universe in a similar way in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. As they watch an old Bird-Man talk, I’m sure many people aren’t sure if there is a Peter Parker in this world.

As they watch an old Bird-Man talk, I’m sure many people aren’t sure if there is a Peter Parker in this world. Even so, we know that Spider-Man exists in this world, and we know which Peter Parker is under the mask. And the answers are, well, pretty cool.
How Morbius and Venom are linked
For now, let’s talk about the fact that Morbius and the Venom movies are both in the same universe as each other. The connection on screen isn’t very strong, but the gooey tether is still there. In the scene where you meet Morbius’ FBI agents Simon Stroud (Tyrese Gibson) and Al Rodriguez (Al Rodriguez), we learn that they were killed (Al Madrigal). When a container ship washed up in New York Harbor, the two people were there to look into it. Its goods? A group of dead bodies, as well as a doctor named Martine Bancroft (Adria Ajona).
Since “in San Francisco,” Rodriguez says this is the most gruesome scene they’ve seen in a while. People who have seen the Venom movies with Tom Hardy will notice that there is a dropped line. Both of these movies take place in the Frisco Bay. The main character in both of them likes to eat his victims, but he likes their brains more than their plasma. Daniel Espinosa, the director of the movie Morbius, also said this before the movie came out. Sony Pictures agreed to let the movie’s director talk about the movie’s spoilers before it opened. In a tweet, Espinosa said, “Morbius and Venom live in the same universe.” At the end of VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE, we saw Venom leave this universe, and then return to it at the end of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME.”
In this world, Spider-Man is a character.
There are Venom, Morbius, and Vulture out in the American West now looking for good things to do, so that’s what we know now. How do we know that Spider-Man is real?
There was a scene in Morbius that was cut but was still shown in one of the movie’s trailers. It shows the old Web-Head on a poster in a nondescript Manhattan alley. Our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man looks bad when the living vampire walks by. The word “murderer” can be seen painted on his face, which is not a good look for the superhero. Remember that Venom and Morbius both say that the Daily Bugle is real, and Spider-Man is always a target for J. Jonah Jameson’s wrath, so keep that in mind.
Now, of course, that scene was cut from the movie, which could mean that it’s not canon. Because both of Tom Hardy’s post-credit scenes in Venom 2 and No Way Home were designed to make it unclear if Spider-Man is alive in this world, we’ll say this: In the first scene, the Venom symbiote says, “Oh, this guy.” When they travel to the MCU and see a news report about Spider-Man on the TV, the symbiote says, “Oh, yeah.” The bartender says, “Maybe I should go to New York and talk to this Spider-Man.”
The last scene can be read in two ways. Most people know that Eddie can’t understand why there is a Spider-Man (which is how the scene is perhaps intended by Marvel Studios, with the line put next to him struggling to understand the concept of Thanos and Hulk). Because Spider-Man is in his home universe’s New York, he could be saying that he needs to talk to this one.
When Espinosa talked with CinemaBlend again, he said the latter is how it should be read. When asked if Spidey is in the Venomverse, the director of Morbius said, “Of course.” I think that soon, people will find out who that Spidey is. He’s probably Morbius and Venom’s Spider-Man because he looks like him. Here comes the real deal. Leto’s Morbius and Hardy’s Venom live in the same world as Spider-Man. Vulture isn’t blaming everything on Peter. All of these villain movies, we think, are based on the Andrew Garfield-starring The Amazing Spider-Man movies from 2012 and 2014. Sony Pictures has also put some pieces together to show that.
Sony has been very vague about whether Spidey is in the Venom movies or not up until this point. Spider-Man movies could change and change again, so they’re also giving themselves room to move deckchairs around. Garfield is this universe’s Spidey, but the studio has already set up the board for it to be shown that he is. And it doesn’t start with Venom or Morbius, either. Not in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland’s MCU Peter Parker first meets his Tobey Maguire and Garfield versions for the first time. Garfield tries to talk the younger Peter out of his desire for bloodlust and revenge. She says, “I lost Gwen.” She was my “MJ.” I couldn’t help her. I will never be able to forget that. Then I tried to keep going, keep being the friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, because I know that’s what she would have wanted. Then, at some point, I stopped giving in. I became angry and bitter. I don’t want you to become like me.
Those who wanted to know what happened after the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 when Emma Stone’s magnetic Gwen Stacy died can now find out. But it also showed that Garfield’s Peter went in a different direction than Maguire and Holland’s Peter did, which was different. A dark place came to him.
In some ways, it might be dark enough for people to write “murderer” on posters of the Web-Head that hang in alleyways. The trailers for No Way Home and even Morbius set the stage for a less-loved Spider-Man who is seen as a threat by the people of New York City. So It May Not Be Garfield: It’s still true that the poster scene was cut from the finished movie, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Garfield might not want to play Spider-Man again. A Spider-Man movie could happen again, Garfield said in January. He told Variety at the end of February that he had “no plans, and that’s the truth.” It’s true that he could be stonewalling the press. For months, he said he wasn’t going to be in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
If Venom and Morbius were made by the same people, we have to wonder whether Garfield would be willing to play Spider-Man again. His second Oscar nomination was for tick, tick, BOOM! He has worked with Martin Scorsese and on Hacksaw Ridge in the last 10 years. His Broadway show about Angels in America even won him a Tony. So it’s hard to imagine that he’d want to wear the mask again in a situation like the one that made The Amazing Spider-Man 2 so bad. During the making of his two Spidey movies, Garfield told The Guardian that he went from being a child to becoming an adult. “How could I have ever thought that it was going to be a completely unique and wonderful thing?” When there are a lot of money at stake, that’s what drives the ship. It was a big shock and it hurt.
Comic-Con in San Diego is full of adults who still remember what the character meant to them. [But] when you add market forces and test groups, the focus shifts to making as much money as possible. It was heartbreaking to me when I saw that in all kinds of things about culture.
People who remember their time as wallcrawlers don’t say things like that. It’s been said that his portrayal of the character has been made up for by his appearance in No Way Home. Would he want to put on the costume again to fight Venom and Morbius? We don’t know for sure. That’s not the only thing Sony does well. If Garfield doesn’t work out for a third time, maybe they’ll recast the whole thing and introduce us to a fourth Spider-Man actor. The multiverse is bigger than three, after all, and there are more of them.
The movie Morbius is in theaters now.

Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Where, Who, Why, and How
In the world of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise, Gamora, played by Zoe Saldaña, was presumed dead after being thrown off a cliff on the planet Vormir in Avengers: Infinity War. However, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, she is back, albeit as an alternate version of herself. The rules of time travel in Avengers: Endgame created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Gamora still exists. This alternate version of Gamora, along with her sister Nebula, was kidnapped by Alternate Thanos and his loyal assassin daughters, and they followed the Avengers back to the main MCU timeline. Main Timeline Nebula killed her alternate self and convinced Alternate Gamora to fight for the good guys. Although Alternate Gamora is alive and well in the main timeline, she declines to join the Guardians as she has never met them or fallen in love with Star-Lord.

Gamora, played by Zoe Saldaña, is a pivotal character in the Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise, but she was thought to be dead after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. So, how is Gamora alive in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Let’s take a look at where she is, who she is, why she is alive, and how she is back.
Who is Gamora in the MCU?
Gamora, the deadliest woman in the galaxy, was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. She was adopted by Thanos after he conquered her planet and killed 50% of its population. Gamora defected from Thanos’ forces and teamed up with the Guardians to keep the Kree general Ronan the Accuser from obtaining the Power Stone. She also encouraged her sister Nebula to defect from Thanos as well.
Where is Gamora in the main MCU timeline?
Technically, Gamora is dead. Thanos abducted her and threw her off a cliff on the planet Vormir, as the sacrifice required to obtain the Soul Stone during the events of Avengers: Infinity War.
Why is Gamora alive again?
Zoe Saldaña is under contract to play Gamora, and her character is an essential part of the Guardians of the Galaxy subfranchise. But in-universe, the rules of time travel in Avengers: Endgame created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Gamora still exists.
How is Gamora alive in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
During the time heist in Endgame, Nebula and War Machine traveled back in time to intercept the Power Stone before the Guardians, Kree, or Thanos obtained it. However, they created an alternate universe where an alternate version of Thanos became aware that there was a timeline in which he gathered all the Infinity Stones and snapped half of the universe dead, which caused the Avengers to time-travel to collect the Infinity Stones. After kidnapping the main timeline Nebula, Alternate Thanos and his loyal assassin daughters, Alternate Gamora and Nebula, followed them back to the main MCU timeline. Main Timeline Nebula killed her alternate self and convinced Alternate Gamora to fight for the good guys. After Iron Man sacrificed himself to snap away all of “Thanos’ forces,” Alternate Gamora remained in the main MCU timeline but declined to join up with the Guardians, having never met them or fallen in love with Star-Lord.
In conclusion, while we don’t know what that means for Alternate Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we know she is in it.
It will be interesting to see how Alternate Gamora’s storyline unfolds in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Given her unique perspective and experiences, there are endless possibilities for where her character arc could go. Perhaps she will struggle to adapt to the new timeline, or maybe she will become a pivotal player in the battle against the villainous Adam Warlock.
Whatever the case may be, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the opportunity to see how Alternate Gamora fits into the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the film set to be directed by James Gunn and featuring a star-studded cast, it is sure to be a thrilling and emotional ride for both longtime fans and newcomers to the franchise.
