The spooky season has here, and Marvel Studios is ready to take a part in the customary celebrations for the first time ever. Fans are awaiting the MCU’s first foray into the horrific side of Marvel Comics as Werewolf by Night, its first Halloween-themed project, prepares for release.
Werewolf by Night will be a front flip into the deep end of the library of monsters seen on the comic page, but the MCU has dipped its toe into the otherworldly previously (i.e. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
Many believe that this is only the beginning for the realm of Marvel monsters because there are clues of more to come in works like Mahershala Ali’s Blade. Fans may have been much more accurate than they could have ever anticipated, it turns out.
Monsters from Marvel taking over the MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to usher in the age of the Marvel monster after Werewolf by Night, according to a recent report from The Cosmic Circus.
According to sources who spoke with The Cosmic Circus, monsters will be “everywhere” throughout the MCU following Michael Giacchino’s werewolf-focused special presentation.
These creatures will truly reveal themselves to society and coexist with the heroes and villains of the MCU, rather than just being concealed from society like Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing are. This includes the fact that Jack Russell and Man-Thing will show up in more Marvel Studios productions.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, previously commented on the significance of monsters, stating that this aspect of the franchise “will ultimately become extremely crucial.”
According to the story, these monsters haven’t just appeared out of nowhere; rather, they have been present from the beginning of the MCU and have just now come to light. Werewolf By Night’s coven of monster hunters serves as an illustration of this; according to Marvel, they had been around for many generations before making an appearance in the Disney+ special.
The Cosmic Circus notes that the next Marvel Studios film coexists with “the current events of the main Earth-616 timeline,” despite the fact that it appears to be straight out of the 1930s or 1940s.
Just the Beginning with Werewolf by Night
Who would have imagined Werewolf by Night would turn out to be one of the most significant Marvel Studios ventures in recent years? While some people may have mistaken the Disney+ special presentation for nothing more than a way to fill in the holes on the Marvel Studios calendar, the reality is that it appears to be revealing a completely new MCU branch.
Werewolf is said to do for the realm of MCU monsters what Guardians of the Galaxy did for the universe. Additionally, it makes sense to explore these stranger, more specialized areas of the Marvel repertoire after 14 years of MCU storytelling. Why not dive into the terrifying Marvel universe when movies like Blade are in the works?
The executive producer of the special, Brian Gay, told The Direct that the special is “simply peeling back the corner of monsters in the MCU,” albeit this report has not yet been confirmed. Therefore, it appears that fans will soon see more of these characters.
