While Morbius is still less than a week away from hitting cinemas, director Daniel Espinosa recently answered a slew of questions on how the picture links to other Marvel properties, including a discussion of the film’s post-credits sequences.

Speaking to CinemaBlend in a recent Twitter Q&A session, Espinosa touched on a handful of Morbius-related things that fans may have been puzzled about. The film will, in fact, take place in the same world as Venom.
“Morbius exists in the same world as Venom,” Espinosa said. “This is the reality from which Venom escaped at the conclusion of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and returned at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
With Morbius and Venom living in the same reality, it was then questioned whether there would be a Spider-Man, to which Espinosa replied, “Of course.” When asked which Spider-Man would exist in Venom’s reality, Espinosa was a little more cautious, just noting that he “understands that fans will find the answer soon.”
Espinosa also discussed Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes/Vulture, who first debuted in Spider-Man: Homecoming but has since been in other Morbius trailers. According to Espinosa, Keaton is portraying the same Toomes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and the events of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home — which see characters cross over into other realities — allow for such happenings.
“It is plainly established at the conclusion of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and in No Way Home itself, that it is conceivable for characters to migrate from one Multiverse to another,” Espinosa added. “The events of No Way Home had the effect of transporting Venom and Vulture (and maybe others) between the MCU and the Venom Universe.”
Espinosa also mentioned how, to those with a sharp eye, Keaton’s Vulture outfit isn’t exactly the same as it was in Spider-Man: Homecoming. There was no explanation for what happened to the suit, although Espinosa did label Toomes “a clever person.”
