The highly anticipated sequel to 2009’s Avatar has been given a title. The sequel to Avatar will be titled Avatar: The Way of Water. Additionally, the film’s release date has been confirmed as December 16, 2022.
Avatar: The Way of Water takes place over a decade after the events of the first film and follows the Sully family:
Jake Sully lives on the planet Pandora with his newly created family. When a familiar menace returns to complete what was begun earlier, Jake must cooperate with Neytiri and the Na’vi race’s army to safeguard their world. James Cameron directed The Way of Water and co-wrote the script with Josh Friedman.
The film stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Michelle Yeoh as Dr Karina Mogue, Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, CCH Pounder as Mo’at, Kate Winslet as Ronald, Cliff Curtis as Nowari, Britain Dalton as Lo’ak, and Jamie Flatters as Neteyam.
