In a nutshell: The record-breaking, heart-stopping, nostalgia-laden sci-fi phenomenon starring Millie Bobby Brown as telekinetic adolescent Eleven is ready to return almost three years after the previous installment.

Is a fourth season of Stranger Things in the works?

Shawn Levy, one of the show’s directors and executive producers, affirmed that “season four is certainly happening” in an interview with Collider in 2018. The series’ creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, then spoke with Entertainment Weekly in 2019 about their enthusiasm for season four and the direction they intended to take the storyline. “We have the large broad strokes,” they said more clearly. It’s now only a matter of filling in the blanks in the specifics. We’re really looking forward to seeing where it goes. It’ll be a totally different experience from [the third] season.”

Has a release date for Stranger Things season four been set?

Netflix issued a teaser on November 6, 2021, revealing that the fourth season will premiere in the summer of 2022. “Vecna’s Curse,” “Dear Billy,” “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab,” and “Papa” were among the enigmatic names supplied for each of the nine future episodes. Then, on February 17, the streaming behemoth revealed that, unlike previous seasons, season four will be broken into two parts. Volume one will be released on May 27th, followed by volume two on July 1st.

The Duffer brothers noted in an open letter to fans that this was due to the fourth season’s unparalleled length and that it would assist get episodes out to viewers as quickly as possible. “Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding,” they wrote. “With nine scripts, over 800 pages, nearly two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice as long as any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding.” “Everyone involved is ecstatic with the outcome, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

What will the fourth season of Stranger Things’ cast look like?

Favorites among the public Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Noah Schnapp (Will), Sadie Sink (Max), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve), Maya Hawke (Robin), Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), and David Harbour (Jim Hopper) are all set to reprise their Is there any more good news? Priah Ferguson, who stole the show as Erica, Lucas’s wisecracking younger sister in season three, has been upgraded to a series regular, according to Variety.

Then there are some that are totally new to the company. In November 2020, it was announced that eight new cast members have joined the fourth season. Jamie Campbell Bower as a mental patient, Eduardo Franco as a fun-loving stoner and Jonathan’s new best buddy, Joseph Quinn as an arrogant ’80s metalhead, Robert Englund as a psychiatric patient, and Tom Wlaschiha as a Russian prison officer who befriends Hopper are among the cast members. In June 2021, four more actors were added to the cast: Myles Truitt as a basketball player, Grace Van Dien as a cheerleader, Regina Ting Chen as a guidance counselor, and Amybeth McNulty as a band geek who captures the eye of one of our heroes.

What can we anticipate from season four of Stranger Things?

In February 2020, a teaser showed that Jim Hopper, who was assumed killed at the conclusion of season three after assisting in the closing of the portal between the real world and the Upside Down, is alive and working with other inmates on an ice train in Russia. The Duffer brothers said in a statement, “We’re pleased to formally report that production on Stranger Things 4 is already started – and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper.” “However, it is not all good news for our ‘American,’ who is imprisoned far from home in the frozen wilderness of Kamchatka, where he will encounter human… and other threats.” Meanwhile, back in the United States, a new horror is surfacing, something long hidden, something that ties everything together. Season four is shaping up to be the most massive and terrifying ever, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it.” While storyline specifics have been kept under wraps, Shawn Levy, the show’s director and executive producer, talked to Variety about the enormous scope of season four, which will premiere in July 2021. “Right before the epidemic, I shot in Lithuania,” he said. “Season four was shot in Georgia, Lithuania, and New Mexico, so needless to say it’s a big one.” It’s far more ambitious aesthetically and narratively than the previous three seasons. The delay is due in large part to Covid-19 and the rapid speed at which we must work to complete it safely, but it is also the season in which we decided to go considerably larger.”

Another summary, released on February 17th, offered further information on what we might anticipate. It stated, “It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which terrorized and destroyed Hawkins.” “Our circle of pals is struggling with the repercussions for the first time – and negotiating the difficulties of high school hasn’t made things any easier.” A new and terrifying supernatural menace emerges at this most vulnerable period, posing a horrible puzzle that, if answered, might ultimately put an end to the Upside Down’s atrocities.”

Stranger Things season four will be set in what year?

Because the first season takes place in 1983, the second in 1984, and the third in 1985, supporters expected the fourth season to take place in 1986. The teaser presented on November 6 verified this, stating that the adventure will resume in the spring of 1986.

When will the Stranger Things season four trailer be available?

Although a complete trailer has yet to be published, a teaser released in May 2021 showed Eleven presumably trapped behind a door in a facility that resembled the one where she grew up. “Eleven, are you listening?” a voice that sounds like Dr. Martin Brenner, the former scientist who reared her as a test subject, says.

Then, on August 6, we got a sneak look, which showed Hopper with a flamethrower and Eleven with long hair and a fringe (a departure from her season three bob). Another teaser, named “Creel House,” was released on September 25. It depicted a 1950s family of four moving into their new house. For a while, they’re content, until their lights start to flicker and a disemboweled rabbit is discovered at their front door. The two youngsters then became lifeless on the floor beside their father. The plot then jumps forward in time, with Steve, Dustin, and the rest of the group searching the now-abandoned home for clues and uncovering an ominous-looking grandfather clock.

Another teaser trailer was released on November 6th. Eleven sent a letter to Mike from her new home in California in this episode. We witness her navigating her school’s corridors, coping with bullying, and counting down the days until spring break, when the two plan to reconcile. There are additional scenes of people having fun at a roller rink, a shootout between Jonathan and Mike, and a scenario on a desert plain with a helicopter and massive explosions. Season four sends a clear message: it’s larger than before.

Will Stranger Things return for a fifth season?

Yes! Stranger Things Season 5 will be the last season, Netflix confirmed on February 17th. “We mapped out the whole plot arc for Stranger Things seven years ago,” the Duffer brothers stated in a statement. “We expected the tale would endure four to five seasons at the time.” It was too big to tell in four parts, but as you’ll see, we’re on our way to the finish line.”

Those who want to see more of the world the Duffers have constructed have reason to hope. “There are still many more thrilling tales to tell inside the universe of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, and new unexpected heroes,” they continued, indicating that a sequel or spinoff series is possible. “But first, we hope you’ll stick around as we wrap up this story about a strong girl named Eleven and her courageous friends, a shattered police chief and a furious mother, a little town called Hawkins, and an alternative world known only as the Upside Down.”

Sigourney Weaver is coming back for Avatar 2 CRAZY!

In the first Avatar, Weaver’s scientist character died, but now she’s back as the protagonists’ adopted Na’vi daughter.

We were all surprised when we heard about 17 billion years ago that Sigourney Weaver would be back for James Cameron’s Avatar sequels (even more so than with the idea of there being multiple Avatar sequels). But now that we know how Weaver is going to come back, we’re even more confused.

AVATAR

Empire magazine has said that Weaver will play a completely different character in Avatar: The Way of Water. In the first movie, she played Dr. Grace Augustine, the creator of the Human-Na’vi switcheroo Avatar Program, who died at the end. And no, it’s not a human. It’s Jake and Neytiri’s daughter, who is about to turn 16.

Weaver will play Kiri, Jake and Neytiri’s adopted daughter. It looks like we’ll meet a lot of Jake and Neytiri’s family in The Way of Water. Weaver told Empire what it was like to play a digitized blue teenager, “I think we all pretty much remember how we felt when we were that age.” “Oh, yes, I do. When I was 11, I was 5’10” or 5’11” tall. I was sure Kiri would feel uncomfortable a lot of the time. She wants to find out who she is. When Jim gave me that task, I was thrilled.

Now, adults play children all the time, especially in the world of voice acting, and at least one of the photos Empire released of Kiri makes it look like Weaver will also show up as Dr. Augustine again in some way, probably through old footage. But knowing that the Na’vi are mostly brought to life by fancy mocap rigs, it will be strange to see Weaver’s physical performance put on a teenager. Even though he is a blue alien teen with long arms and legs, he is still a teen.

The movie Avatar: The Way of Water will come out in December 2022.

Disney will show new scenes from “Avatar: The Way of Water”

Disney started its CineEurope presentation in Barcelona today with 12 minutes of footage from July’s Marvel fourquel Thor: Love and Thunder. Throughout the show, Disney showed trailers and looks at its other upcoming movies, including four never-before-seen scenes from James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.

Before the Thor footage, Disney’s Head of Global Theatrical Distribution Tony Chambers talked about the importance of immersive storytelling and the studio’s “robust, diverse slate.” This was followed by about 60 minutes of footage that was introduced by EMEA Head of Theatrical Distribution Nick Rush and EMEA Head of Studio Marketing Lee Jury.

There were prerecorded messages from people like Marvel boss Kevin Feige, who said, “It feels like we’re just getting started, even after 14 years.” As he introduced the Love And Thunder scenes, Thor star Chris Hemsworth said he wished he was in Barcelona, where the sangria “always tastes better.”

Harrison Ford sent a video for Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones 5, saying that it had been 13 years since the last movie and that it was “time to put on the fedora and crack the whip.”

We also saw parts of Haunted Mansion, Pixar’s Elemental and Strange World, and the ensemble Amsterdam, which was directed by David O. Russell for New Regency.

Sam Mendes sent a video about Empire Of Light by Searchlight. The director of 1917 said that after making that movie, he wrote this one during lockdown. He said it was a “extremely personal story” about music, movies, and finding love in strange places.

Rebecca Kearey, the international head of Searchlight, showed a trailer for See How They Run, which stars Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan, and a teaser for The Banshees of Inisherin, which stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, directed by Martin McDonagh. Searchlight also showed the first scene of Chevalier, which is about the son of an African slave and a French plantation owner who grows up to be a famous composer in France.

The next movie by Thor director Taika Waititi, Next Goal Wins, got an eight-minute sneak peek. The movie is about the American Samoa soccer team. In 2001, they lost to Australia 31-0, which was the worst loss in World Cup history. Michael Fassbender takes over as their new coach.

Disney’s show ended with a visit from Avatar producer Jon Landau, who flew from New Zealand to Barcelona to talk about the next movie in the series. He said that Avatar: The Way of Water was in the final stages of post-production and that it was important to be in Barcelona “to show our support for the exhibition community.”

Landau said that the strength of James Cameron’s scripts is that they have universal themes. “There is nothing more relatable than family,” he said before showing a message from Cameron.

Cameron from New Zealand said that the people working on Avatar were “pushing the limits even further… Every shot is made for the biggest screen and best resolution that can be achieved… I think this is what people want.” He also said, “Our business is not going away.”

Sigourney Weaver Reveals Her Unconventional Role in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’

Weaver will portray Jake and Neytiri’s adoptive child.

Many pondered what type of role Sigourney Weaver would have in the sequel to James Cameron’s Avatar after the death of her character, Dr. Grace Augustine, who was the leader of the Avatar Program in the previous film. Finally, in an Empire Magazine exclusive, Weaver shared insights about the role she will portray in Avatar: The Way of Water, as well as a new photograph from the film.

Weaver announced to Empire Magazine that she would play Kiri, the adoptive daughter of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaa), in the film. “I believe we all remember what we were experiencing as teens,” Weaver told Empire Magazine exclusively. “I most definitely do. When I was 11, I was 5′ 10″ or 5′ 11″. I had a strong feeling Kiri would be uncomfortable a lot of the time. She’s trying to figure out who she is. Jim’s assignment of that task excited me.”

A fresh picture, which adds to the character’s mystery, has also been unveiled, hinting at some type of link that Kiri would have with Grace. Kiri is seen inside a lab, staring at a monitor with a recording of Grace on it. Despite not being biologically connected to Jake and Neytiri, Kiri seems to have human traits that other Na’vi do not have, such as five digits and eyebrows, adding to the character’s mystery.

Empire exclusive

With an obvious link between the two, as well as both characters being performed by the same actor, viewers can only guess on how significant Kiri’s involvement will be in the plot. The character will also appear on a subscriber-exclusive cover of Empire Magazine, which depicts her swimming underwater appreciating Pandora’s aquatic life, as shown in the first teaser.

Weaver and Cameron will work together again for Avatar: The Way of Water, having previously played Ellen Ripley in Aliens and Grace in the first Avatar film. Along with Weaver, Stephen Lang will reprise his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch, the man responsible for Grace’s death, in the sequel. Quaritch, like Weaver’s character, perished in the first film, fueling curiosity regarding his participation in Avatar: The Way of Water. While the roles of both actors remain unknown, fan speculation may continue until the highly anticipated film is released later this year.

On December 16, Avatar: The Way of Water will be released exclusively in cinemas.
