A woman dies every 90 seconds during pregnancy or childbirth. The majority of these deaths might be avoided, but due to gender inequality, many women do not receive the education or care they require.

[2] Women account for 80% of all refugees and internally displaced persons. Sexual assault and rape are frequently used as instruments of genocide against women and girls.
